Halmos' law

To get your significant other, you need Time, Money, and Energy. The sum of the three is constant. You need many of the remaining two if you are short of one. If you are short of two, you need a tremendous amount of the remaining one. If you are short of all three, no hope. Otherwise, the result is always success.
